Chrome extension for Jira Cloud

The ticket you have open, as a prompt a coding agent can follow.

Open a Jira issue, click the toolbar icon, and read a structured implementation prompt built from that ticket. Paste it when you are ready.

Preview of the popup on an example ticket, PAY-214. The real Copy prompt button writes to the clipboard only after you click it.

Purpose

The extension converts the Jira ticket you are viewing into a structured text prompt, and lets you copy that prompt or the ticket’s image attachments. It uses the ticket only for that.

It is for Jira Cloud pages where you work a ticket: browse, the issue view, and project issue screens on atlassian.net and jira.com. It leaves Confluence and Jira settings pages alone. It does not post comments, edit fields, or move a ticket through a workflow.

What you see

The prompt is organized around the ticket

When those parts exist on the issue, the prompt includes them in a fixed order so an agent can follow it.

  1. Task identity, role, and implementation guardrails
  2. Your saved project instructions, if you wrote any
  3. Problem, requirements, and acceptance criteria
  4. Technical constraints, discussion, and edge cases
  5. Links and attachment names, with live download URLs left out
  6. Ambiguities, a repository investigation list, and a validation plan

Four tabs

Prompt shows the text, attachment previews, and Copy prompt.

Instructions is optional text saved in this browser and added to every prompt.

Status shows what was extracted and any warnings.

Privacy repeats how ticket data is handled, with a link to the privacy policy.

Features

The open ticket, including collapsed comments

Comments behind “Show more” and “View replies” are included. The extension opens those controls. The ticket itself stays as it was.

Instructions that stay on this computer

Anything you type under Instructions is stored in Chrome’s local extension storage and placed in the prompt under “User project instructions”.

Attachment previews, copy, and open

While the popup is open, small previews load from your Jira site. Copy image fetches the full image when you click it. Open shows that file in a new Jira tab.

Auto-open, off until you turn it on

With auto-open on, moving to another Jira ticket opens the popup on Chrome 127 and newer. On older Chrome the toolbar icon shows a badge instead.

How to use it

Open the ticket

Go to the Jira Cloud issue and click the extension’s toolbar icon. Chrome 116 or newer is required.

Read the prompt

Check the Status tab if something looks thin. Open an attachment when the pictures matter.

Copy, then paste

Click Copy prompt and paste into the coding agent you use. The extension does not send the prompt there itself.
